Quick start
- Open Apps → CloseReply in Jira.
- Create a project or global response template.
- Add a clear name, select or create a folder, and write the response.
- Insert Jira variables where details should be filled automatically.
- Save, open a Jira issue, and choose the CloseReply issue action.
- Preview the final reply before posting it.
Templates
Templates contain the reusable response. A template can be personal, project-scoped, or global. Search, folder filters, and private stars help users reach the right response without browsing a long list.
Variables
Use the variable menu beside the response heading to insert issue, request, project, and user details. The preview resolves variables against the current issue so the user can verify the result.
Formatting and files
The rich-text editor supports formatted Jira content. A template may also include files stored in Forge Object Store. Files are copied to the request only when the user confirms the response.
Signatures
CloseReply chooses the most specific available signature in this order:
- Personal signature for the current Atlassian account.
- Project signature managed for the current project.
- Global fallback used when neither of the above is configured.
The final signature is shown in the response preview before posting.
After-send actions
A template may prepare optional follow-up work such as updating a field, transitioning the issue, or creating a related request. The user reviews the combined action before CloseReply writes to Jira.
Customer portal templates
Admins can explicitly approve suitable text templates for the Jira Service Management customer portal. Portal delivery excludes attachments, signatures, actions, and private metadata. Keep portal templates free of internal instructions and verify the rendered text.
Permissions and access
Personal content belongs to an Atlassian account. Project and global content are shared only inside the current Atlassian installation and are protected by the app’s administration rules. A user must also have the relevant Jira permission for an issue action to succeed.
